There were a few moments when the USC Trojans might have thought they had a chance against their PAC-10 rivals, the Oregon Ducks.
In 2 1/2 minutes the Trojans scored twice and took the lead. Only the second time all season that Oregon has trailed in the third quarter, the Ducks quickly turned to LaMichael James, who leads the nation in rushing, and unleashed 24 unanswered points.
James rushed for 239 yards and QB Darron Thomas threw for 4 touchdowns, 3 of which were caught by senior receiver Jeff Maehl.
And so ended any hopes of USC preventing the Ducks from winning their first game in the Coliseum since 2000.
But enough of the dry statistics and regurgitation of the painful plays that must keep both Lane Kiffin and Trojan alum awake at night.
The true moment of victory for the Ducks came not on the field of play, but rather on the sidelines. Equally as impressive as any of James' devastating scores, the Oregon Duck put on a show worthy of BCS title aspirations.
No. 1 Oregon plays host to the Washington Huskies (3-5) at Autzen Stadium on Saturday, November 6 at 3:30PM ET.
The Ducks are -35 point favorites against the spread, and are posted at +150 to win the BCS National Championship. Place your bet on which team will win the BCS!
