NFL Power Ranking Performance - Week 15

NFL logoLet's take a look at how playing the ESPN Power Ranking favorites worked out in week 15 of NFL sports betting.  We will post results for both ESPN Power Ranking favorites and online sportsbook favorites, when they differ.

Also, we hope you considered playing our NFL pick for Sunday, a six-point four team teaser.  There were a few tense moments but it worked out nicely.

Now, on to the power ranking review for week 15, minus tonight's MNF battle between the Chicago Bears and Minnesota Vikings.

In the 15 games completed thus far, ESPN Power Ranking favorites have won:

  1. 7 games SU (straight up)  47%
  2. 5 games ATS (against the spread)  33% overall
  3. 5 games ATS - 71% of games in which the favorite won
  4. Bettors who took the Over went 5 of 7 in games the favorite won - 71%

There were several games in which online sportsbooks listed the favorite as a team ranked lower than the ESPN Power Rankings.  How did those results differ?

Based on the lines posted at online sportsbooks, the week 15 favorites won:

  1. 10 0f 15 games SU (straight up) - 67%
  2. 8 of 15 games ATS (against the spread) - 53% overall
  3. 8 of 10 games ATS in which the favorite won - 80%
  4. Bettors who took the Over went 7 of 10 when the favorite won - 70%

The following games are the online sportsbook favorites that won, although ranked lower than their ESPN Power Ranking opponent:

  1. Bengals over Browns, 19-17
  2. Titans over Texans, 31-17
  3. Colts over Jaguars, 34-24
  4. Panthers over Cardinals, 19-12
  5. Ravens over Saints, 30-24

There is no shortage of options when betting NFL odds.  The key is to find a strategy and money management system that allows you to play only the games in which you've identified an edge, while maximizing profit and minimizing losses.  It can be very simple, but almost never easy.

NFL logoWeek 13 in the NFL ended with Monday Night Football's highly anticipated AFC battle between the New England Patriots and the New York Jets. The game was never close, and sports bettors were rewarded handsomely for taking the NFL odds on the Patriots.  Below is a recap of the NFL Week 13 results.

NFL Week 12 Power Ranking Results

Bet NFL Monday Night FootballWeek 12 was a pretty good week for the favorites, as determined by ESPN's power rankings.  The higher rated team won SU (straight up) 11 out of 16 games, for a 69 percent win rate.  ATS, or against the spread, your results when taking the favorite dropped to 6 of 16 games, a win rate of 37.5 percent.

Proper money management, along with your preferred wagering strategy, whether that includes straight bets, parlays, moneyline, or six point teasers, can provide great, NFL sports betting results on any given Sunday with online sportsbooks.
